Short answers to the things people actually ask. Searchable.

Getting started

Make your first QR code

Use the generator on the home page — no account needed. Type your address, pick a style, download the PNG or SVG. That code is static and works forever.

Create an account

You only need one for dynamic codes. Sign up with an email and password, confirm the address from the email we send, and you have three dynamic codes on the free plan.

Static or dynamic?

Static for a destination that will never change and does not need tracking. Dynamic for anything printed where the target might move or you want scan counts.

Making and editing codes

Change where a code points

Open the code in your dashboard and edit its destination. The change takes effect on the very next scan — we send no-cache headers precisely so there is no delay.

Why can I not edit this code?

It is probably frozen, which happens when you have more dynamic codes than your plan allows. It is still redirecting and still counting scans. Delete a code you no longer need, or upgrade, and editing unlocks.

Design a code that scans

Keep strong contrast between the code and background, leave the quiet zone alone, and keep logos under 30% of the width. The editor warns you if any of these look risky.

Download formats

PNG for screens and most print, SVG for anything being resized or professionally printed, PDF and EPS for print shops. All formats on every plan, including free.

Pause a code

Pausing shows a page saying the owner paused it — useful for a seasonal offer. It is different from deleting, and it is reversible.

Delete a code

Deleting is permanent and anything printed with it will show a "code not found" page. We retire that address forever rather than giving it to another customer.

Analytics

What we record

Time, country, region, city, device class, operating system, browser family and referring host. We do not store raw IP addresses or full user-agent strings.

Unique vs total scans

A unique scan is the first time a given device scans a given code on a given day, identified by a salted daily hash that cannot be traced to a person.

Why is my scan count lower than expected?

Link-preview bots are redirected but not counted. If you shared the link in a chat app, those previews will not appear.

History limits

Your plan sets how far back you can look, not how much we record. We never stop recording, so upgrading reveals history that was already there.

Billing and plans

Change plan

From Billing in your account. Upgrades take effect immediately and unfreeze codes oldest-first. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

Cancel

Billing → Manage billing → Cancel. No email required and no retention call. Your codes keep resolving afterwards.

Refunds

30 days, no questions, any plan. See the refund policy.

A payment failed

Nothing happens to your codes while Stripe retries. Update your card from Billing. Even if it never succeeds, your codes keep redirecting.

Account

Reset your password

Use the forgot-password link on the sign-in page. Resetting signs out every other session.

Confirm your email

We send a link when you sign up. If it expired, request a new one from your account — they last an hour.

Export everything

Account → Export gives you the Permanence Kit: static fallback codes, codes.csv, scans.csv and a README. Available on every plan.

Delete your account

Contact us and we will remove your data. Note that deleting the account retires every dynamic code address, so anything still in print will stop working.

Troubleshooting

A code will not scan

Check contrast, print size and the quiet zone. Below roughly 20mm most codes struggle; the editor shows a recommended minimum size for your specific code.

The code scans but goes to the wrong place

Check the destination in your dashboard, and check whether any targeting rules are matching. If you recently edited it, the change is immediate — there is no cache to wait for.

I get a "code not found" page

That address has no code registered, or the code was deleted. If you printed it and expected it to work, contact us with the address and we will investigate.

Scans are not appearing

Give it a minute — recording happens just after the redirect. Bot traffic is excluded by design. If a real scan is genuinely missing, tell us.
