Free QR tools

Working tools, not demos. No account, no email address, no watermark and no scan limit. Everything here runs in your browser — what you type is not sent to us.

Why these are free

Every tool here makes static codes, which encode their content directly into the pattern. They do not route through our servers, so they cost us nothing to serve and there is nothing we could ever switch off.

We charge for dynamic codes — the ones you can edit after printing and see scan analytics for — because those genuinely do run on infrastructure we pay for. Even then, scans are never metered, and our Permanence Promise means codes keep resolving if you stop paying.

What these tools check for you

Making a QR code is easy. Making one that still scans after it has been printed at 20mm, laminated, and stuck to a window in afternoon sun is where most generators let you down silently. Each tool here runs the same checks as you type:

  • Contrast between the code and its background, with a warning well before the point where phones start failing.
  • Quiet zone — the four-module blank margin the specification requires, which designers crop more often than any other rule.
  • Version and module count, shown live, so you can watch a code get denser as you add content and stop before it becomes unprintable.
  • A recommended minimum print size calculated from your specific code, not a generic number.

None of that requires an account either. It is in the free tools because a code that does not scan is not a cheaper product, it is a broken one.
