About

A small company making one thing properly.

Why this exists

Dynamic QR codes are a strange business. The vendor owns a redirect, the customer owns a pile of printed material pointing at it, and the leverage runs entirely one way. Most of the industry has built its pricing on that leverage: cap something, wait for the customer to print, then charge to lift the cap.

The result is a category where the loudest, most repeated complaint is not about features or price. It is people describing flyers, menus, signs and packaging that stopped working because a trial ended or a card expired.

We thought that was both a bad way to treat people and a straightforwardly beatable position, because honouring the opposite promise costs almost nothing. So ScanMePlz is built around one commitment: your codes keep working. Everything else — the pricing, the export, the published shutdown terms — follows from it.

Who builds it

ScanMePlz is made by Municipal Web Works, a small web development business in Irvine, California, run by Jay Walker. It is a deliberately small operation: no sales team, no account managers, and support email that reaches someone who can actually change the code.

Why there are no testimonials on this site

You will not find customer logos, star ratings, or a "trusted by thousands" banner anywhere here, because ScanMePlz is new and none of that would be true. Inventing social proof is where a lot of this industry's credibility problem starts, and it would be a strange way to begin a company whose entire pitch is that we will not mislead you about what happens to your codes.

What we offer instead is verifiable: pricing stated in full, competitor comparisons dated and sourced, a guarantee written into the terms rather than onto a landing page, and an export that lets you leave without reprinting anything.

What we are not

We are not an enterprise platform. There is no SSO, no SAML, no SOC 2 report and no procurement process. If you need those, Uniqode is a serious product and we would rather point you there than waste your time.
