ScanMePlz vs Uniqode

Uniqode (formerly Beaconstac) is mid-market and enterprise: compliance, analytics depth, multi-team governance. Here is how the two compare on the things that decide it — price, limits, and what happens to a printed code when billing goes wrong.

Choose Uniqode if

• The strongest brand in the mid-market, with real enterprise governance features

• Deep analytics and team management that we do not attempt to match

• 30-day money-back guarantee, stated on their pricing page

• If you need SSO, audit trails and procurement, Uniqode is a serious choice and we are not

Choose ScanMePlz if

• You print codes onto things that are expensive to reprint, and you want a written commitment that they keep resolving if your card fails or you downgrade.

• You do not want scan analytics to stop recording at a threshold.

• You want monthly billing and a price under $15 for a custom domain and API access.

• You want to be able to export static fallbacks of every code, so the decision is reversible without reprinting.

Annual billing only, and $2,000 a year for a custom domain

Uniqode's own pricing page states it "only offer[s] annual subscription plans" — there is no monthly option at all — and that scan limits "reset annually" rather than monthly. It also lists a custom domain as a Plus add-on at $2,000 per domain per year. Custom-domain routing costs almost nothing to provide on modern edge infrastructure.

Is ScanMePlz cheaper than Uniqode?

At the entry tier, yes: ScanMePlz Starter is $4/month against Uniqode’s $9/mo, billed annually ($108/yr). Our free plan also includes 3 dynamic codes with no scan cap, against Uniqode’s None for dynamic codes — static only. Checked 2026-10-04.

Can I move my Uniqode codes to ScanMePlz without reprinting?

Yes, and you do not have to choose immediately. Point each Uniqode dynamic code at the matching ScanMePlz code's address. Your printed codes still scan, they just route through Uniqode to us. Once you are happy, reprint from the new codes at your own pace — or do not, and leave the chain in place.

What does Uniqode do better?

Genuinely, several things — see “Choose Uniqode if” above. We are not trying to be the best platform for everyone, and pretending Uniqode has no strengths would just tell you this page is not worth reading.
